Personal Experience With ME/CFS
I will present my own case history outlining the viral, environmental and chemical onset of the symptoms which were later diagnosed as CFS.
I'll talk about who I was as a personality and the goals I had before CFS and the enormous impact this disease had on my life, socially, economically and physically.
The hardships I faced dealing with the medical fraternity and other health care professionals in convincing them of the severity. How young people are treated differently compared with adults and their experiences regarding:
- misdiagnosis of pervasive refusal syndrome
- malingering
- munchausen syndrome
- hypochondria
- doting parents
- depression
- school phobia
- disbelief
- social security
- intimidation and humiliation
- schooling difficulties
